Launching our "blog" - Decode Briefings

We often ask this question in interviews - "If you had to choose one, what would you prefer: thinking, managing or doing?"

Like many other behavioral and psychometric questions, there is no "right answer" to this question. Completing a task requires all three (thinking, managing and doing) - though not all tasks are equal. The time and effort required among each of these three skills varies from task-to-task.


Here, at the Decode Group:

  • We have been doing a lot of great work - if we may say so ourselves - for a very long time - our first company was incorporated in 1994!

  • We have also been thinking a lot about our social and digital presence. In a people-driven B2B business (we are business transformation experts), it is natural to focus on offline marketing strategies where 1:1 conversations often drive revenue generation.

  • We have now (finally!) managed to set up the right resources and a clear strategy for our digital presence.

  • And now, we are back to the doing i.e. putting our plan in action!

"Decode Briefings" - What it is


Well, it is definitely a blog, but it's not "just" that. When we thought about the kind of content we wanted to publish, we were overwhelmed with the options in front of us. We thought about things like:

  • Businesses: Tags to highlight relevant group businesses:

  • Target Audience: We work with a wide range of professionals and businesses such as lenders/banks, financial institutions, consultants, peers, employees, accountants, insolvency professionals/practitioners, business owners/management, academia, government, attorneys/advocates, law firms, valuers, technocrats, engineers and more.

  • Content Curation: Identifying areas of interest from the vantage point of each of the different groups forming our target audience

  • Mediums: Podcasts, video series, pictures, written content

  • Platforms/Modes: LinkedIn, WhatsApp, emails, YouTube, social media platforms, websites

  • The Boost: Strategies and budgets to reach our target audience x


Putting all of this together, we conceptualized the following categories for "Decode Briefings:

  • Case Studies: A long-form report of interesting cases involving business transformation.

  • Case Snippets: A Short-form or snippet-style reporting of interesting anecdotes from the industry

  • News Reviews: Our take on interesting content created by others

  • Decode Chronicles: An "at work" series where we share more about us and our team, give updates, and chronicle what a day-in-the-life looks like at the Decode Group

  • Decode Deals: Announcements of mandates and projects
